About the Role

The role of warehouse associate purpose is to support the warehouse team in loading, unloading, receiving, storing, and distributing inventory. They will also assist warehouse, operations or inventory control manager in retrieving, recording and distributing parts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload and receive inventory.
  • Cycle count inventory and store in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse.
  • Perform inventory of all inverters and assist with parts inventory twice a year as directed by Warehouse Manager.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Ensure loads are complete per documentation.
  • Secure loads in proper fashion to prevent damage and breakage.
  • Follow all safety guidelines outlined in the safety manual.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Retrieve and distribute parts/inverters per inventory manager’s instruction.
  • Compare identifying information such as count, weight, and/or measures of items for accuracy against documentation.
  • Review customer requirements for packing materials and include those accordingly.
  • Select appropriate packaging and materials for outgoing customer equipment and place items within the packaging neatly in order to avoid damage through the transportation process.
  • Properly seal packages and load them onto outgoing delivery trucks.

Qualifications

  • This job requires working in an industrial environment.
  • This role routinely uses office equipment such as a computer, phone and mechanized equipment such as pneumatic tools, hand or power tools, cranes, lifts, hoists or ladders.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to operate a motor vehicle and will be required to operate a forklift.
  • Requires exposure to contaminants, hazardous equipment, hazardous conditions, high places, sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
  • Requires making decisions that impact the results of co-workers, clients or the company.

Required Skills

  • Ability to use handheld scanning unit.
  • Good hand eye coordination, hand dexterity and strength, ability to withstand prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling, ability to lift up to 60lbs.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred minimum.
  • Forklift certification and working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch. Also is expected to occasionally climb or balance.
  • Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Skills

  • Requires working in reduced workspaces and getting into awkward positions.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
