Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 3-Month Contract (with potential for extension)
Shift: Full-Time, 8-hour shifts
Shift 1: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Shift 2: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Compensation: $30/hour
Position Overview: A healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join its team for a 3-month contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective decontamination, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays used in the Operating Room and other clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform decontamination, disinfection, washing, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
Apply aseptic techniques and conduct quality checks with precision and accuracy.
Operate sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers, Steris, and Sterrad systems.
Assemble simple and complex surgical sets according to established guidelines.
Accurately record sterilization and decontamination activities.
Respond promptly to urgent or emergent requests from clinical personnel.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications (Required):
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA)
