Job Title: General Manager – Commercial Property Management

Location: Newport, Jersey City, NJ

Reports to: Senior Director, Head of Commercial Property Management

We are a premier developer, owner, and manager of Class ‘A’ and Class ‘B’ office buildings in New York City. With a reputation for excellence and innovation, we are seeking a General Manager to oversee our NK Portfolio located in Newport, Jersey City, NJ. This individual will be instrumental in ensuring operational excellence and tenant satisfaction across multiple commercial assets.

Position Summary:

The General Manager will lead daily property operations, ensuring that our commercial buildings meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and tenant satisfaction. This role requires deep experience in the management of Class ‘A’ and ‘B’ office buildings, with a strong preference for those who have worked within the New Jersey and/or New York City markets.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, motivated, and highly ethical leader with extensive knowledge of property operations, mechanical systems, contract negotiations, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of commercial property operations.
• Set operational goals and lead property management teams to meet performance benchmarks.
• Maintain the presentation, functionality, and safety of all building assets.
• Oversee contract administration, vendor management, and building staff.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs and infrastructure preservation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety regulations.
• Lead emergency response efforts and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage building improvement and base-building construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and inspections.
• Interpret and enforce lease agreements, service contracts, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with legal, brokerage, and executive teams on operational and tenant matters.
• Ensure tenant satisfaction through responsive, professional communication and service.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; RPA or CPM designation preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing Class ‘A’ commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of commercial property systems, operations, and tenant relations.
• Proven track record in project management, budgeting, and team leadership.
• Proficient in reading architectural and engineering plans and scopes of work.
• Familiarity with New Jersey and/or NYC real estate regulations and practices.
