Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced claims professional, either a Claims Attorney or an Adjuster, to supervise and manage legal matters handled by outside counsel for the company. The cases involve a mix of premises liability and motor vehicle accidents, both involving liability and no liability disputes.

Position Details:

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing Contract

Location: Hybrid (3 days on site in Union Square)

Pay Rate: $75+/ hour

Responsibilities:

As a Claims Professional, you will:

• Manage 100+ litigation cases assigned to outside counsel independently.
• Review case files and maintain updated notes in the case management system.
• Diary case updates and communicate with outside counsel and internal investigators.
• Provide input on defensive case strategy and settlement recommendations.
• Prepare settlement requests and conduct case reviews to evaluate outcomes.
• Analyze and comment on motions and mediation statements submitted by outside counsel.
• Collaborate with the outside counsel management team to ensure case progress aligns with company objectives.
• Review and approve submitted legal bills and manage reserves for case valuations.

Experience Required:

• Must possess an active attorney license and be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Significant experience managing high volumes of general litigation cases independently.
• Comprehensive understanding of case strategy development and motion evaluations.
• Familiarity with litigation reserve setting, valuation of cases (including New York jurisdiction), and strategic settlement practices.
• Advanced proficiency in technology tools such as case management software, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
