Reputable and dynamic law firm in downtown Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

• Document Preparation :
• Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents in state and federal courts (including e-filing processes).
• Calendar Management :
• Maintain and manage attorneys’ litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and client meetings.
• Court Interaction :
• Coordinate with courts regarding scheduling and filing procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of documents.
• Case Management :
• Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic.
• Manage discovery materials, including indexing, organizing, and tracking exhibits.
• Conduct legal research or assist attorneys with case investigation, as required.
• Administrative Support :
• Answer phones and manage correspondence with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for depositions, mediations, or trials.
• Support billing and timekeeping activities.

Qualifications:

• Education : Associate degree or higher is preferred, especially in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
• Experience :
• A minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant.
• Prior experience in a litigation-focused environment is highly desired.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with litigation software or case management tools is a plus.
• Experience with e-filing systems in both state and federal courts.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to multitask and handle a dynamic workload under strict deadlines.
