As we continue to grow, we're looking for a smart, driven, and creative Director of E-Commerce to lead and scale our online business across platforms.

Position Overview

As the Director of E-Commerce , you will own the full online customer experience and digital revenue performance of ROPE.com . You will develop and execute a high-impact growth strategy that spans Shopify, Amazon, Google, TikTok, Meta, and other key platforms. You’ll manage cross-functional partners and lead initiatives around SEO, paid media, social content, conversion optimization, product merchandising, and more.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, has a strategic mind and creative instincts, and can execute with precision and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

E-Commerce Strategy & Execution

  • Own the overall performance and growth of ROPE.com ’s DTC channels (Shopify, Amazon, etc.)
  • Lead the day-to-day e-commerce operations, including merchandising, promotions, inventory flow, and product launches.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to grow traffic, conversion, AOV, and customer retention.
  • Oversee end-to-end Amazon strategy including advertising, content optimization, inventory management, and customer service.

Digital Marketing

  • Direct the performance marketing strategy across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, and other channels, balancing brand and ROAS.
  • Develop and manage the content calendar in collaboration with creative partners to drive storytelling, product education, and engagement.
  • Oversee SEO, SEM, and affiliate marketing programs to maximize organic and paid reach.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure a smooth and branded online customer journey from homepage to checkout to post-purchase.
  • Optimize site UX, navigation, PDPs, and checkout for performance and ease of use.
  • Partner with customer service and fulfillment teams to ensure fast, friendly, and reliable experiences.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Own reporting dashboards across all e-commerce KPIs (traffic, sales, conversion, retention, etc.)
  • Use A/B testing and performance analytics to inform site improvements and campaign optimization.
  • Provide monthly performance reviews with insights, wins, and recommendations for improvement.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build and manage a high-performing internal and external team (agencies, freelancers, or in-house staff).
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, creative, and executive teams to align on priorities and ensure success.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or online retail, ideally in a product-heavy DTC or marketplace environment.
  • Proven experience managing and growing Shopify and Amazon channels.
  • Deep knowledge of digital marketing, including Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, TikTok, influencer campaigns, and email/SMS marketing.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, CRO, web analytics, and merchandising best practices.
  • Experience working with creative teams on brand messaging, content, and social media storytelling.
  • Analytical mindset with hands-on experience with tools like Google Analytics, GA4, Klaviyo, Triple Whale, or similar.
  • High level of ownership, initiative, and entrepreneurial energy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in industrial, technical, or lifestyle product categories.
  • Background working with third-party logistics or drop-ship models.
  • Familiarity with video production, photography, or TikTok/Reels content creation.
  • Passion for tools, gear, hardware, or the outdoors.
