Position Overview

We’re hiring a Level III DC Power Technician to lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of DC power systems on telecom sites across the U.S. This position is ideal for a hands-on, safety-first technician with extensive experience in telecom power infrastructure, strong documentation habits, and leadership qualities to guide junior techs.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission DC power plants , VRLA/Li-ion batteries , rectifiers , and BDFBs .
• Complete site surveys , load studies , and battery testing (including IR scans and load bank testing).
• Terminate lugs, install fuses/breakers, perform live power work when required.
• Perform grounding/bonding per spec (e.g., AGB to rack connections).
• Complete all labeling, closeout photos, redlines , and customer system reporting accurately and on time.
• Lead small install crews and mentor junior technicians (Level 1–2).
• Coordinate with ADB Project Managers and customer reps to ensure scope alignment.
• Maintain adherence to OSHA safety standards , RF Awareness guidelines , and ADB QA procedures.

Top Skills & Requirements

• Advanced understanding of -48V DC systems, telecom rectifiers, converters, and battery configurations.
• Ability to read and interpret telecom schematics, one-line diagrams, and rack elevations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in live telecom environments and DC power plants.
• Attention to detail for QA and punch list work .
• Effective leadership and team communication in the field.
• Must have excellent documentation skills and basic Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Certifications (Required/Preferred)

• OSHA 30 (required or must obtain within 30 days of hire)
• CPR/First Aid Certification (required)
• DC Power OEM Certifications (Preferred: Vertiv, Alpha, Eltek, GE/Lineage)
• RF Awareness (preferred for work near cellular antennas)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and DOT card

Experience

• 4–7+ years of DC Power installation in telecom environments.
• 2+ years of experience leading crews or performing as a Level III Technician.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Conditions

• 40+ hours per week with potential for overtime.
• Overnight travel required occasionally; hotels booked or reimbursed.
• Must provide personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
• Frequent standing, climbing, and lifting required on job sites.
• Required to wear PPE including hard hats, gloves, eye and hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
