Construction Project Superintendent

Primary Function and Responsibilities:

Our Construction Superintendents are the driving force behind successful project execution in the field. We rely on them to lead day-to-day site operations, manage subcontractor coordination, uphold safety and quality standards, and ensure that every project moves forward on schedule and on budget. They are the face of our company in the field, maintaining discipline, solving problems in real time, and holding the line on excellence. Simply put, our superintendents are the boots on the ground that bring the project vision to life.

  • Leadership - Command all daily site activities on the project. Set the tone, keep the subcontractors focused or the critical path, and make sure the job is moving according to plan.
  • Build to Spec – Ensure all work meets drawings, specs, building codes, and quality standards. No shortcuts. No rework.
  • Drive Performance – Set the pace by example. Hold crews and subcontractors accountable, recognize strong performance, and maintain a high-expectation in a high-output environment.
  • Enforce Safety – Make safety non-negotiable. Enforce site protocols, run regular safety meetings, and keep a clean, hazard-free site.
  • Keep Things Moving – Actively coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and equipment to avoid delays and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Communicate Clearly – Keep PMs, clients, subs, and crews in the loop. Document everything. Speak up early when issues arise.
  • Control the Plan – Track progress daily. Flag risks early. Adjust schedules, manage changes, and help control costs before they become problems.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • Direct experience building multi-family housing, office, retail, high-end restaurants, and/or hospitality projects.
  • Exceptional eye for finish quality , craftsmanship, and architectural detail
  • Background in finish carpentry, custom home building , or hands-on GC experience preferred
  • Comfortable with digital project tools, mobile devices, and construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years experience as a lead superintendent on commercial construction projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge in methods of commercial construction, building codes, and sequence and scheduling practices for various building types and delivery methods. 
  • Safety OSHA 10-HR Certification, CPR/First Aid Certified, Fall Protection and Scaffolding Certifications.
  • Command the ability to motivate and drive production through professionalism
  • Personify continuous growth and improvement in learning and mentoring
  • Confident and effective communication skills across all platforms — phone, written logs, email, computer systems, and mobile devices.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on tasks as needed. Able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs, operate tools and equipment, and assist with physical labor on occasion. Willing to actively engage in jobsite activities beyond supervision when required.
