Job Description

SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support our client's product team. This individual will focus on creating and maintaining accurate 2D/3D models and documentation using SolidWorks, while managing data through the Product Data Management (PDM) system. This is a full-time, on-site position, ideal for someone comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and update 2D/3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks for various steel and wood components.
• Perform revisions and modifications to drawings and documentation based on engineering changes or design improvements.
• Utilize 3D scanning data to update or validate models and technical drawings.
• Maintain drawing files and data in the PDM system, ensuring version control and organized file structure.
• Assist with scanning, measuring, and documenting existing parts and assemblies.
• Support the Engineering and Product Development teams by providing detailed technical drawings for internal use and external suppliers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure drawing accuracy and alignment with production needs.
• Prepare and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), communicating updates clearly to relevant teams and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree or technical training in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).
• 2+ years of experience as a CAD Drafter in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and experience working within a PDM system.
• Strong understanding of drawing standards, tolerancing, and materials such as sheet metal, tubing, and welded assemblies.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
