Odell Law, PLC, led by Managing Attorney Robert Odell, specializes in representing individual employees in cases involving Wrongful Termination, Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Whistleblower Retaliation.

Role Description

Odell Law, PLC is a plaintiff-side employment litigation firm that is seeking a 1-3 year litigation associate. 

This is a non-billing civil litigation position with flexible hours, remote work and opportunity for bonuses. Applicants should have a J.D. from an accredited law school and be fully licensed to practice law in the State of California with no restrictions or prior discipline.

Applicants should be detail-oriented, clear communicators and be able to work independently. The firm has many samples, templates and legal resources available for most all assignments and tasks. As such, applicants should be able to use these resources to work more independently as time progresses. Applicants should be very familiar and have experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint in addition to Adobe/PDF documents.

Salary is DOE and applicants should have at least one year of civil litigation experience. Prior employment litigation experience will be given greater preference.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, drafting pleading documents, legal research, drafting and opposing legal motions, drafting meet and confer correspondence, drafting discovery requests and responses, client intake, drafting demand letters and mediation briefs, document review and summary, attending court hearings, assisting with depositions, trial preparation and trial, etc.

Applicants should be prepared to give at least two (2) references and provide relevant sample work product.

Newly admitted attorneys are welcome to apply but must have at least some civil litigation training and provide law school transcripts if admitted less than one year.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • California Bar license in good standing
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe
  • Prior civil litigation experience (preferred)
